Nickel-Chromium Resistance Wires

Cr20Ni80 nichrome wire

Features:
Cr20Ni80, with its combination of oxidation resistance, stable electrical properties, mechanical performance, and cost-effectiveness, has become one of the most reliable electric heating alloy materials, making it a go-to choice for most medium- to high-temperature heating applications. Compared to regular nickel-chromium alloys, Cr20Ni80 shows noticeably better oxidation resistance. Tests show that after continuous oxidation at 800°C for 100 hours, the surface oxide layer is only 20 microns thick, whereas the standard alloy reaches 50 microns. Its resistance changes linearly with temperature, with errors within ±2%. The tensile strength at room temperature is 500-700 MPa. Even at high temperatures (800°C–1100°C), its tensile strength still stays around 250-350 MPa. Cr20Ni80 doesn’t become brittle after long-term high-temperature exposure, which extends its service life. Room temperature elongation is between 20%-30%, and it has excellent cold stamping and welding performance. After solution treatment, the alloy is single-phase austenite, keeping its structure stable during use. Even with new materials constantly emerging, Cr20Ni80 still holds a core spot in many medium- to high-temperature conventional heating scenarios thanks to its great value and reliability.
Cr20Ni80 Resistance Wire is also known as Nichrome V, Tophet A, Alloy A, Brightray C, Cronix 80, Nikrothal 80, Chromalloy, Chromel A, and Gilphy 80, N8, HAI-NiCr 80, Resistohm 80, Protoloy, MWS-650, Stablohm 650
